Be An Echo
One of our local gas stations had this quote flashing across its sign, “Be a voice, not an echo.” That’s from Albert Einstein.
But it’s a trap. Anyone who tries to stop echoing will only become the worst kind of echo.
“For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” (1 Corinthians 4:7 NKJV).
Everything you have has been given to you. You are an echo.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27 NKJV).
All men were created to echo God. We are made in His image and likeness.
In fact, the only way for you to have a voice, is to become a better and better echo of God’s voice. Until when you live and speak, people see and hear Him.
This is what Jesus does.
“And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes” (Mark 1:22 NKJV).
Jesus spoke with authority. He had a voice. But where did that voice come from? Jesus Himself is the Word of God (John 1). Jesus is the Word made flesh. He is the Voice.
And we are to echo Him.
You can’t choose to be either a voice or an echo. You can only choose which voice you will echo. And only one Voice has authority.
What do you think?
