Boundaries

You might know someone who doesn’t have boundaries.

Or maybe you don’t have boundaries.

I believe that boundaries are the source of creativity.

If there are no rules and you can do anything you want, then you won’t end up doing anything at all.

Or at least you won’t do anything interesting.

But it’s actually worse than that.

We don’t have a choice between boundaries and no boundaries.

If you don’t set boundaries for yourself, someone else is going to set them.

So the difference between boundaries and no boundaries isn’t just creativity. It’s also focus and purpose.

Who is setting your boundaries? And, therefore, who is deciding what you focus on and what your purpose is?
