Satan's Plan For You

We want cattle who can finally become food; He wants servants who can finally become sons. We want to suck in, He wants to give out. We are empty and would be filled; He is full and flows over. Our war aim is a world in which Our Father Below has drawn all other beings into himself: the Enemy wants a world full of beings united to Him but still distinct (The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, 2001, p39).

Screwtape is describing to Wormwood the difference between Satan’s desire for the future and God’s plan for the future.

The demons want food, God wants sons. The demons take, God gives overflowing. The demons consume and destroy, God unites us to Himself without diminishing our individual personhood.

When you think of God, which of the above is more like the God you know? If you think God is more like the description of the demons above, that’s a sin. Confess it and stop it. If you think being a Christian is suffering for a sadistic God so you can eventually get to heaven, you’re confusing God’s plan for you with Satan’s plan for you.
