Sell To Your Strengths
“Selling is getting someone intellectually engaged in a future result that is good for them and getting them to emotionally commit to take action to achieve that result.” ~Dan Sullivan, Founder of Strategic Coach®
I love that definition of selling from Dan Sullivan. You are helping someone else imagine a better future in their head and then helping them to take action toward that future with their heart and hands. You are guiding them toward what to believe and then guiding them toward what to do.
So how do you do that?
Or a better question is, “So how do you do that?”
Stop copying the methods that other salesmen use. Stop trying to say what they say word-for-word.
Instead start learning the principles of selling and come up with your own methods.
The perfect approach for you is one that takes a timeless sales principle and executes it using your particular strengths.
If you haven’t already, read this post. I describe a specific method that I use, but what are the principles behind that method?
Because once you get the principle, you’ll be able to use it to create your own method. And that is what it means to sell to your strengths.
What do you think?
