The Great Dominion Commission
These are the first words God spoke directly to man:
“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28 NKJV).
He set us out with a hope that our efforts wouldn’t be in vain.
Fruitfulness is expected.
Jesus built on this with the Great Commission:
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age,” (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV).
Now He sets us out with a hope that our efforts for evangelism won’t be in vain.
The first words have power because they come from a God who just finished creating the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.
Don’t doubt. Your failures can’t hinder God’s success.
And the same is true for the second words.
Christ has all authority in the cosmos and He sends us out with that authority.
So there are two things you shouldn’t doubt. Your effectiveness as a producer and your effectiveness as a witness.
What do you think?
