It Smells Like Christmas
The most glorious Christmas concert was sung by an angel of the Lord surrounded by a multitude of the heavenly host (Luke 2:13):
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14 NKJV).
You didn’t need to pay to get into that concert. No kings were invited. You didn’t need to be well dressed. And if you had sheep, they were welcome.
That most glorious concert was sung to shepherds and sheep. I’m not sure what shepherds and sheep smell like, but I grew up on a farm. I do know what farmers and cows smell like.
And I’ve never smelled that smell at any of the concerts I’ve been to.
Stop pretending you can be worthy of the Gospel. You’re a sinner. Confess your sin. Then go to Jesus.
“When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us’” (Luke 2:15).
Merry Christmas,
Joseph
