You Are God's Good Work
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made” (Genesis 1:31-2:3 NKJV).
God doesn’t rest because He’s tired. God rests because He takes delight in His work of creation.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV).
We also rest because we take delight—not in our works—but in God’s works. How do I know that? Because we are His workmanship.
You don’t do good works—you are God’s good work. Enjoy watching God work through you. And when it’s time to rest, take delight in that work.
